There's a time capsule at my feet
Scorched feathers surround the street
A stop sign that's broken down
Letters upon the burial mound
As we keep on marching without a sound
Across the universe we go round and around
Cause the future is broken, the past is made
Each day we keep on dwindling away
Maybe this life is uncertain
But it ain't a burden
So let's keep searching through the everglades
Cause we can fade, slip up and decay
Or bloom this day indefinitely
As there is always a price to pay

Chaos in a silken dress
Make and break these promises
Order in a suit and tie
The world is ours without confine
They shatter our hollow minds
As we are searching for harmony
The wild road is filled with irony
I see a spark upon a flake of snow
Just like our souls, it burns so slow
Yet the effect that it solidified
Was creating change in territory denied
We cut through worlds unseen to the eye
The purgatory of the cosmos is realized
When we burn a match and enjoy the ride
For no one knows what tomorrow brings
Another victory in futility as the alarm rings
To once again soar freely and then sing
A song in silence for our forgotten suffering

To feel at peace with nothing tonight
Lay in the ashes, born again in light
Bones to pick with dead men
Over gambling debts and mayhem
Angels are bound to our world
Then again, they forget their identity
Conform to the paradox of humanity
Dwindling love within serenity
Comes back home with scars and whiskey
Only to love themselves more wholly
Reflections in the aging hourglass
Come one, come all, take a cast
For the dice of life is always on the run
If you don't take your turn, there is none
Cause it ain't cruel but it's rarely fair
This burden of ours, these crosses we bear
Many of us wandering without a care
Cause when we look inside, our demons stare

Of our emotions, the truths we hide
